5 signs your company network needs an overhaul
A company network ages quietly. People get used to slowdowns, restart the router, add a Wi-Fi extender… until the day an outage stops the whole business. Here are five warning signs.
1. Everything slows down at peak times
If the network crawls as soon as everyone is online, the equipment or cabling can no longer keep up with the number of users.
2. Wi-Fi has dead zones
Offices with no signal, or connections dropping when you move between rooms: coverage was never properly planned, or the access points are outdated.
3. Nobody knows which cable goes where
A messy patch panel makes every intervention slow and risky. It is usually the sign of a network that grew without a plan.
4. Every device sits on the same network
Workstations, cameras, printers and guest Wi-Fi all mixed together: one compromised device can reach everything else. Splitting the network into VLANs limits that risk.
5. Outages keep coming back
Regular drop-outs, switches rebooting, damaged cables: fixing issues one by one quickly costs more than a proper overhaul.
Where to start?
An audit gives you a clear picture: cabling, equipment, Wi-Fi coverage and security. You then know what needs replacing first, and what can wait.
